Meet Our Staff
Corinth, MS
April Davis
Managing Director
April Davis is a life-long resident of Corinth. She was born in Booneville, Mississippi, and grew up with two sisters, her twin Amanda, and Melissa.
April graduated from Alcorn Central High School and went to Northeast Community College to study elementary education. On August 25, 1999, while she was still in college, April started working at Country Cottage. After working with the elderly at the Cottage, April realized that is where she needed and wanted to be, so she changed her major to nursing and began to work toward that degree.
In 2001, April married Tony Davis and the couple had a daughter, Alyssa. April took a little time off from school so she could care for her daughter and work at the Cottage. In August 2003, April was promoted to Resident Services Director, and in 2005, to Managing Director position. She and her husband recently had another child, this time a little boy, Jackson.
“I am so honored to hold this position with Country Cottage,” April says. “I look forward to the opportunity to care for our residents and serve the community as Managing Director. The last many years at Country Cottage have been such a great pleasure.”
We are so happy to have April in our Cottage family and are so proud of her success!
Dawn Owens
Resident Services Director
Dawn Owens is proud to be a part of the Country Cottage Family. She comes from a strong background of mental health care, and is certified in crisis intervention. Dawn worked as a Homemaker at the Cottage for almost 5 years before being promoted to Resident Services Director! Dawn is a caring person with a big heart and loves to help people who are in need – she feels right at home here at Country Cottage!
She grew up right here in Corinth and went to Northeast Community College. Before joining the Cottage, she worked at Timber Hills Mental Health Center. “I love taking care of people that need help,” she says.
Dawn lives at home with her husband, Kenneth, and their daughter, Alika. She enjoys walking, scrapbooking with her daughter and mother, riding her four-wheeler, and playing softball. She attends First Baptist Church and has “been going there all my life.
Michelle Anderson
Regional Information Director
Michelle Anderson understands the importance of family. She has been married for over ten years and shares two beautiful children with her husband, Tony. Every fall they join the rest of Michelle’s family in watching Alabama Football games with their season tickets, a family tradition started by Michelle’s father before he passed away. Her closeness with her own family carries over into her job at the Cottage.
“When families come in, they are at a crisis point. While the situations can be tender, I believe that we can make a positive difference in people’s lives. I consider it a privilege to server as the Information Director and truly help families navigate their way through the assisted living process and make the best possible choices for their loved ones.”
Michelle has worked in healthcare since 1989, paying special attention to seniors and their families. She graduated from the University of North Alabama in Florence and worked for SouthernCare Hospice, Hearthstone Assisted Living and Huntsville Hospital before joining the Cottage family.
“I simply love people,” Michelle says. “I believe the Cottage staff feels the same way. Every caregiver at the Cottage has a genuine love for the Residents, and it shows! The first time I stepped in the Cottage I could feel the warmth of the care staff, and when I stepped into the country kitchen, I felt like I had walked right into my grandmother’s kitchen. It smelled delicious! I felt so at home. We give our Residents a place to call home, and we give their families a peace of mind. It means so much to me to work for a company that puts their philosophy into practice.”
When Michelle isn’t taking care of the Residents at Country Cottage, she enjoys spending time with her own family. She loves reading, cooking and outdoor sports. Michelle and her family are members of Willowbrook Baptist Church, and she is very involved in Women’s Ministry and teaches third grade Sunday School.
