Outside of her role at the Cottage, Haley enjoys camping, hiking and watching movies. She attends Church 29:11 in Gardendale, Alabama. “I will not change the world, Jesus will do that. But I can change the world for one person. So, I will keep loving, one person at a time.”
Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Leslie developed an affinity for spending time with seniors through her mother, who loved to include her children in volunteering at local nursing homes. Love took Leslie to southern Illinois where she spent fifteen years. She graduated with her Bachelors in Psychology and Counseling and became a licensed Assisted Living Administrator. Leslie managed three assisted living communities in Illinois.
She truly has found her passion and has devoted her energies to working in the senior housing industry. Family brought Leslie back to Alabama in November of 2011, and today Leslie says she loves Alabama and is happy to be home! Denise Staples has been the Food Services Director at Columbia Cottage in Mountain Brook for many years. She loves to take care of our residents and makes sure that their food is delicious and satisfying. Denise is proud of making meals from scratch, and always offers her specialty, three desserts at every meal.
She knows exactly what each Resident likes and dislikes and how they prefer their meals. The cost of care and service varies for each individual resident based on the size and location of the apartment they choose, as well as the kind of care and services needed.
At Columbia Cottage in Mountain Brook, the cost of care starts at $3,037. This rate is paired with a customized personal care plan called CareSteps. After an assessment by our Cottage staff, your loved one will receive a care plan that is specific to his or her individual needs. This plan is revisited every three months or with any significant change, so if your loved one moves in and becomes more independent, his or her cost for care would decrease. If he or she has a decline, the cost of care would increase with the additional staff attention your loved one would require.
Prices effective January 1, 2017.
