Betty Chesnut, LPN, Managing Director
Betty Chesnut, a nurse and licensed Assisted Living Administrator, came to Country Cottage as Managing Director from Burns Nursing Home. After high school, Betty attended Jones County Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi and went to nursing school to become an LPN. “I feel blessed to be a nurse and help my residents on a daily basis with their needs,” she said. “I have a love for the elderly and for helping others.” Betty wants people to know that Country Cottage can meet so many needs of the elderly while providing a friendly and homey environment.
Raised in Laurel, Mississippi, Betty is the daughter of a homemaker mother and a father who was a supervisor for an oil company. The oldest of four children, Betty has two sisters and one brother. The siblings ranged in ages a good many years and the year Betty graduated from high school was the year her brother started school. Growing up, one of the things Betty loved best was spending time on her grandparents’ farm riding horses.
Betty is married to Keith Chesnut and they have two daughters. Their older daughter, Clarissa, recently got married, and younger daughter, Melissa, is a student at the University of North Alabama. Betty enjoys spending time with her family as well as antiquing and gardening.
Regina Lawler, Resident Services Director
Regina Lawler, Resident Services Director, has worked at Country Cottage since the first day the doors opened. She began as a Homemaker before being quickly promoted to Coordinator and then to Resident Services Director. Regina feels she has found her “place in life” and says “I will be here long after I’m old enough to be one of the residents. I love my residents as if they were my own family.” Regina has her Assisted Living Administrator’s License and Assisted Living Federation Association’s National Lifetime Administrative Certificate.
Regina grew up in the Mount Hebron Community and attends North Russellville Baptist Church. She has been married to Perry Lawler for 32 years and has one son. In her spare time, she enjoys walking and cross-stitching.
