How You Can Reduce Your Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease

While there is still currently no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, there are still certain things you can do to help reduce your risk for Alzheimer’s and dementia. Most researchers agree that the best way to try to prevent Alzheimer’s is by living a healthy lifestyle and making good choices when it comes to food, activity, and socialization.

Through taking care of your body and your mind, you can live the healthiest life possible. Reading and listening to music are also ways that researchers say you can help keep your brain healthy and reduce your risk for Alzheimer’s. Reading and writing regularly can help to improve cognitive abilities, and music therapy is often used to help seniors who have dementia manage their emotions better.

If you don’t have one already, talk to your doctor about starting a daily exercise routine. Focus on eating right, not smoking, and drinking alcohol in moderation or not at all. Remember to go to the doctor for your regular doctor’s visits and take your medications properly.
