April Cowperthwait – Admissions Director

April brings over fifteen years of experience working with residents in their Cottage home. She has worked in the Cottage in a variety of roles, giving her a unique perspective and a true understanding of what challenges our seniors and their families face.

April loves helping Huntsville families find the right solution when it comes to caring for their older loved ones. “This is so exciting for me,” says April. “Huntsville is such a great city, and I am looking forward to helping the families in this community!”

April Davis was born in Booneville, Mississippi, and grew up in Corinth with two sisters, her twin Amanda, and Melissa. In 2011 she moved to Huntsville, AL with her two children, Alyssa and Jackson.

Heather Brandt – Resident Services Director

Heather is originally from Pennsylvania where she graduated from Penn State with Bachelors degree in Psychology. She then moved down to Alabama to help her sister start Elite Podiatry, where she worked for 3 years as the Executive Director.

It was there she discovered her passion: caring for the elderly, and decided to become a licensed Assisted Living Administrator. Heather and her dog Cinna volunteer as a certified Therapy Partners team to bring healing, happiness, friendship, and comfort.

“I love working at the Cottages, everyone there feels like family. The best part is getting to spend time with the residents and hearing about their experiences. They are truly appreciative of the difference you make in their lives.”

Selena Jackson – Regional Managing Director

Selena is from Russellville, Alabama and first joined the Cottages in 1998 as the Resident Services Director for our Country Cottage in Russellville. Since that time she has been a member of the Cottage team in various positions, including Managing Director for several of our locations. Selena has been a nurse for over 25 years, and has enjoyed 22+ years caring for the elderly.

“The reason I love caring for the elderly is because of my many wonderful grandparents who played such an important role in my life,” says Selena.
